Faina got her name from the Russian dancer I watched on "So You Think You Can Dance" - it was a Russian name I had not seen used before in Borzoi (unlike Anastasia, Tasha, Nicholas and Czar). I have seen various definitions for it: "light", "free one", "shining" (possibly from the Greek Phaenna), and "bright" - all suitable descriptions for this sweet little girl.
Faina came away with 3 points after her first weekend of showing, and she's taking to the ring quite easily...just like both her parents.
