For me, placing pups is one of the hardest aspects of being a breeder. Choosing who will be the lifelong family and caretakers of the dogs born here is an undertaking not taken lightly. It is a task second only to the responsibility of preserving and following the breed standards of the Borzoi and Silken Windhound breeds that we love. Dogs born here are a commitment for their lifetime - those who have dogs from us become members of our "extended family."
Of course - placing pups and older dogs can bring the greatest of rewards as well! We greatly enjoy hearing stories about the dogs living all over the U.S. and even abroad in countries such as Belgium, Germany and Sweden. Also cherished are the pictures sent to us of the dogs in their new homes, interacting with other family members and sometimes hitting the show ring or field.

Tanner was, for all practical purposes, stolen by one of her co-owners who told lies about her behavior to try to get the other co-owners to just let her stay with her. She had attempted to do the same with Kerry, who had flown over with her - but now, thankfully, is at Leicros and is nothing like what was reported. A sad loss for the European Silken community, as Tanner was a lovely bitch with lots of promise. Sadly, it has also caused me to reconsider exporting again.
