Herc is our beautiful little overachiever from our breeding of Pasha and Velvet. I had constantly stated that I wished I could combine Pasha and Deuce and feel I would then have the perfet Silken - so I did the next best thing and bred Pasha to Deuce's sister!
Herc was originally called "Porki" since he plugged up the birthing proceedings, weighing just over 16 oz. at birth!
Herc's first show was a doozie - SilkenFest 2015 - and boy did he make an impression! In the Sweepstakes he was awarded Best Opposite Sex to an older bitch (our Whoo's sister, Qlarissa!).
In the regular classes, he won the 6-9 Puppy class. The more he went around the ring, the better he got! He took to it like a natural - just like his papa Pasha. He was then awarded Reserve Winners Dog, earning his ISWS-qualifying major!
He quickly earned his UKC championship at a group of UKC shows in Athens, TN and then earned his first grand championship leg from a class of 7 in May while attending shows in Colorado, becoming the youngest Silken Windhound to earn an ISWS championship.
Sadly, he contracted kidney cancer, and died September 13, 2018. Hug your hounds tight - you just never know!
