Josi was whelped August 18, 2000 and joined us in March 2001. She resembles a lovely little charcoal brindle Borzoi and has the most exquisite head, along with very dark eyes and pigment, scissors bite with full dentition, and lovely little ears. People are drawn to her wherever she goes.
Josi is our Silken foundation bitch and was bred to Ivanhoe in late 2002, resulting in a colorful and promising litter in February 2003. From that litter we kept Ginger and Tyler (both ISWS, Rarities and IABCA Champions). This litter was repeated in 2004, producing 3 lovely pups: Brewer, Ember and Kandi. Ember moved to Washington (Tangaloor Silkens) in 2005 (after winning Best Puppy in show at Silkenfest 2005) and Brewer and Kandi grew up here at Gryffyn's Aeyrie. with Brewer then heading to Scirocco Hounds in CA and Kandi remaining with us.
In July 2002 Josi earned 8 points towards her Rarities American Championship. She also won a Reserve Best in Show that weekend. In August 2003 she completed her Rarities Championship and won three more Reserve Best in Shows.
In 2004 Josi became the first Silken Windhound to earn the title of Rarities Grand Champion!
Josi has also completed the requirements for her IABCA (UCICB) championship.
In July 2006, at an ISWS Specialty in conjunction with Rarities shows, Josi won Winners Bitch/Best of Winners and finished her ISWS Championship!
